Joe McMahon grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School before attending Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Joe received his law degree from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, and began serving as the law clerk to the Honorable Joseph C. Madenspacher of the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.
After working for Judge Madenspacher, Joe accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney at the Office of the District Attorney of Lancaster County. During this time, he developed a reputation as a principled and aggressive litigator that dealt with a myriad of legal issues and complex cases.
Joe has handled cases that range from the preliminary hearing stage through trial and the appellate process. He served in multiple departments, including the Special Victims (Child Abuse), Felony Drug, and Post-Conviction units.
After gaining vast and unique experience at the Office of the District Attorney, Joe entered private practice where he specializes in Criminal Law and Family Law.
Joe is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also successfully argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster County bar associations.
Joe currently lives in Hempfield Township, Lancaster County with his wife and children. He and his family are members of Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lancaster, PA.
